Dimitris Pikionis. Greek architect (1887-1968). Also painter. And indeed, a painter of space he was. Deeply interested in the roots of contemporary greek civilization. His arrangement of the area around the Acropolis rock, the pavements, the little church of St. George Lombardiaris, is one of his most sensitive gifts to us! ...simple and diachronic. He added each little stone with great care. (The extended 2004 pavements, are just horrible).
